Rev. Dr. Teresa Jefferson-Snorton
Rev. Dr. Teresa Jefferson-Snorton is the Ecumenical Bishop and Program Development Officer for the Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church. She is also the denomination’s endorser for chaplaincy and specialized ministry. Jefferson-Snorton is an ACPE certified Clinical Pastoral Educator (retired) and an APC /BCCI Board Certified Chaplain (retired). She has a B.A. degree from Vanderbilt University, the M.Div. from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, a Th.M. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and the D.Min. from United Theological Seminary. She currently teaches pastoral care in the D.Min. program at the Payne Theological Seminary. She was adjunct instructor in pastoral care at Candler School of Theology, Emory University from 1991-2010. She has also taught pastoral care at the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University and patient counseling at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Allied Health Professions. She is the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in Atlanta, Georgia. In her ecumenical work, Jefferson-Snorton serves as Chair of the Governing Board of the National Council of Churches in the USA and on the governing boards/steering committees of both the World Council of Churches and the World Methodist Council.
